On March 18, 2026 we hosted an event featuring international keynote speaker Juha Kahila, the Head of International Affairs at Finland’s Y-Foundation.
Kahila’s talk focused on how Finland reduced homelessness by 81% with long-term investments in social housing and a Housing First approach. We wanted to know: What can Manitoba learn?
At the event, Indigenous, women, and queer community leaders highlighted local housing challenges and the need for inclusive social housing and Housing First approaches in Manitoba.
