R2H letter to Mayor Bowman on impact fees

The City Working Group of the Right to Housing Coalition has sent a letter to Mayor Bowman regarding the proposed introduction of impact fees on new development.  The City Working Group noted in the letter as well that little or no priority is being placed on affordable housing by the City of Winnipeg  Since the adoption of the City’s housing policy in 2014 there has been little progress made to complete the plan.  The Chair of the Working Group encouraged Mayor Bowman to use his office to take a bold stance on affordable housing as other mayors have done in Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Toronto.
